At Pensacola Apothecary, we have the ability to create a multitude of medicines with a specialty in the creation and dispensing of bio-identical compounds, such as those used for hormone replacement therapy. Bio-identical hormones, or BHRT, uses hormones biologically identical in chemical structure and function to those produced naturally in humans. We believe that only hormones which exactly match those produced by the body will have the same predictable results.
The technicians at Pensacola Apothecary make compounds identical to human forms. In other words, they are not plant hormones or goat hormones or horse hormones, but lab-created derivatives that are identical to human compounds. Patient satisfaction and medical success have convinced more than a few physicians and patients that there is great merit in the bio-identical method. BHRT hormones are available in a variety of dosage forms, including capsules, topical creams, vaginal creams, suppositories, injections and more.
In addition to making hormonal compounds for use by female patients, Pensacola Apothecary produces a testosterone replacement compound for use in the phenomenon of andropause, where age and other factors have lowered natural testosterone levels in males. By using saliva samples, technicians are able to determine the level of the hormone in a given patient and create dosages to replace the dwindling testosterone percentages.
